Your Farm Tour

You will be keen to share Bruce’s passion for agriculture on this tour where you will learn a little of what happens on ‘real’ and busy working property.

  • The tour route depends on what is happening on the farm at that time.
  • Your tour will take around two hours and will include variations of the following:
  • You will learn of our technologically advanced farming practices in producing the worlds highest quality and ‘greenest’ cotton, sheep feed, grains as well as Merino wool and meat – with no subsidies! Discover the benefits of planting genetically modified seed.
  • Visit our historic 1898 and 1940’s shearing shed, still in use today.
  • You may even be lucky enough to see our kelpie dogs working the sheep.

THE FARMSTAY

  • After a long career in fashion, your host Julie decided in 2007 to embark on a new project to share their much-loved part of Outback Australia.
  • Julie is a ‘people’s person’ and has worked towards her vision of developing a farm stay with all the fun and interest of welcoming and enjoying wonderful and interesting people from all over the world whom Bruce and Julie would never meet in their usual day to day lives.
  • Julie is interested in all artistic pursuits and that is quite evident in the presentation of the accommodation featuring Julie’s art works, the homestead and garden oasis, along with simple yet delicious meals using local and homestead produce.
  • Julie adopts orphan kangaroos and mothers them until they integrate with a mob that live nearby.
  • The Armstrong’s are animal lovers so there are lots of friendly animals including our highly valuable working kelpie dogs.
